What Is Diclofenac Gel

Diclofenac gel is a gel for external use, homogeneous and with a characteristic odour. The gel contains the active ingredient Diclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent.
Diclofenac gel relieves symptoms of inflammation, reduces swelling and muscle pain.

Indications

Rheumatoid arthritis, arthrosis, radiculitis, lumbago, sciatica, tendovaginitis, bursitis.

It is indicated for soft tissue and joint inflammations of various aetiologies and for muscular pain of rheumatic and non-rheumatic origin.
The gel is recommended for pain relief after injury.

Dosage and Use

It is recommended that adults and children over 12 years of age apply Diclofenac gel to the skin of the painful area 3 to 4 times a day. It is gently rubbed into the skin. The gel dose for one application is about 2-4 grams, about the size of a ripe cherry berry.

For children between 6 and 12 years of age, Diclofenac gel is recommended to be used no more than 2 times a day. In this case, no more than 2 g (half a ripe cherry) should be applied.

Contraindications

Allergic reaction to the active substance Diclofenac.
Do not apply to open wounds and skin lesions.
Diclofenac gel is not to be used in the third trimester of pregnancy and during breast-feeding.
It is contraindicated in children under 6 years of age.
