What is Cymbalta

Cymbalta (the active ingredient of which is duloxetine) is a tablet used in the treatment of depression and diabetic neuropathy. It is available in doses of 20 mg, 30 mg, 40 mg and 60 mg, which makes it easy to take on a regular daily basis. Caution should be exercised when prescribing in patients at increased risk of hyponatraemia (advanced age, cirrhosis in the patient’s history, if dehydrated or taking diuretics).

How to Stop Taking Cymbalta

Abrupt discontinuation should be avoided. If treatment with duloxetine is stopped, the dose should be gradually reduced over one to two weeks. If symptoms recur after a dose reduction or treatment interruption, the doctor may advise continuing the previous dose and reducing it more gradually after a period of time.
