Weakness, fatigue and hyperpigmentation (localised darkening or dark patches on the skin and mucous membranes). Does this set of symptoms sound familiar? If so, it is time to have your adrenal glands examined. The symptoms described above are often characteristic of Addison’s disease, a slowly developing and often progressive hypofunction (insufficiency) of the adrenal cortex. Unfortunately, there is no complete cure, but the sooner you start therapy to replenish glucocorticoid and mineralocorticoid hormones, the sooner you can regain your joie de vivre. One of the drugs that will help you to maintain the levels of these hormones is Florinef, a drug that is well known in all regions of United Kingdom.

You will find more information about this drug in our material, and if you are already familiar with it, now is the time to order a new pack. You will be delighted with the excellent price, fast delivery and the possibility to order the medicine online without a prescription.

What is Florinef

Florinef is a medicine used to treat various conditions related to insufficient production of adrenal hormones. The active substance fludrocortisone is a synthetic analogue of the hormone aldosterone, which is involved in the regulation of fluid and electrolyte levels in the body. The product works by increasing aldosterone levels in the blood and improving sodium and water retention in the body.

Indications

Indications are Addison’s disease, inappropriate secretion of antidiuretic hormone (ADHA), adrenogenital syndrome with salt wasting and in orthostatic hypotension (drop in blood pressure during rest).

Contraindications To Use

Contraindications to the use of the drug include: hypersensitivity to fludrocortisone or any other component of the drug, severe renal and/or hepatic insufficiency and hypertension (high blood pressure).

Side effects

The use of Florinef may cause side effects such as high blood pressure, elevated blood glucose levels, oedema, headache, dizziness, muscle cramps and changes in electrolyte balance, nausea, vomiting, constipation or diarrhoea, seizures, cataracts or glaucoma. If the patient experiences unpleasant symptoms while taking the medicinal product, a doctor should be consulted.

Directions for use and dosage

Before starting treatment, consult your doctor, who will decide on the individual regimen and dosage necessary for the patient.
The medicine is taken orally after a meal with plenty of water. The starting dose is usually 0.1-0.2 mg per day, but may be modified depending on the efficacy and tolerability of the drug. Patients with hypertension are prescribed 0.05 mg daily. It is recommended in combination with cortisone (6.25-25 mg daily) or hydrocortisone (5-20 mg daily), especially in replacement therapy.

The drug should be taken for a prolonged period of time. Therefore, it is important to monitor your condition and visit your doctor regularly to check the effectiveness of the treatment and possible side effects.
