What is Indocin

Indocin is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug for pain relief. It relieves spine and joint pain, morning stiffness and joint swelling and increases range of motion.

Dosage of Indocin

A starting dose for adults may be Indocin 25 mg 2-3 times daily.
If the clinical effect is poor, the dose is increased to Indocin 50 mg 2-3 times daily.

The maximum dose of Indocin in short-term treatment is 200 mg daily.

In case of long-term use (> 4 weeks), the daily dose should not exceed 75 mg Indocin.

Application

Indocin tablets are taken orally, during or immediately after a meal, without chewing and with plenty of water.

Contraindications

Allergic reaction to Indocin; coagulation disorders; erosive-ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract (acute phase); acute pancreatitis; severe hypertension.

Contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.
Not prescribed for children under 14 years of age.
