High blood pressure has long been a global problem, greatly increasing the risk of coronary heart disease, stroke, heart and kidney failure, and often causing vascular and eye damage. Blood pressure lowering drugs are taken to lower and stabilise blood pressure, often in combination with diuretics. One of these is Midamor, a potassium-sparing diuretic. Although mildly acting, it has a diuretic effect, but less strong than that of thiazide diuretics, so it is most often used as part of a complex therapy.
You can buy the drug from our online pharmacy at the best prices and without a prescription. Just fill in the order form and a couple of days later you will receive the medicine at any post office, even in the most remote corner of United Kingdom.
What is Midamor
Midamor is the trade name for the active substance amiloride, which is often used in combination therapy with other diuretics, increasing their diuretic effect and reducing the risk of hypokalaemia (decreased blood potassium levels). It acts mainly in the distal part of the renal tubules (located in the periphery of the kidney), increasing the excretion of sodium and chloride ions and decreasing the excretion of potassium ions.
Indications
Midamor is used as a diuretic in cases of hypertension and heart failure.
Contraindications for use
Midamor has several contraindications for use: hypersensitivity to amiloride or any other preparation, renal disorders and hyperkalaemia (increased amount of potassium in the blood). Do not use during pregnancy and lactation.
Side effects
The drug is generally well tolerated by patients. However, in some cases nausea, vomiting, headache and low blood pressure have occurred. In these cases, it is recommended to take the drug not daily, but every other day and in smaller doses, and to consult a doctor. If other serious adverse reactions occur, consult a doctor immediately.
Indications for use and dosage
Before taking this medicine, it is advisable to consult your doctor, who will determine the correct daily dose for you.
The tablets should be taken with meals and with the required amount of water. The medicine is usually taken as one 5 mg tablet a day, which is added to the usual dose of an antihypertensive or a potassium diuretic. If necessary, the dose can be increased to 10 mg per day. The action starts 2 hours after ingestion and lasts up to 24 hours.
