What is Nolvadex

How to Use and Dose Nolvadex

Nolvadex tablets are taken by mouth with water. The standard dose for adult patients is 20 mg per day, increasing to 30-40 mg per day in special cases. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 40 mg. The therapeutic effect appears after 4-10 weeks of treatment, in case of bone metastases – after several months of treatment.

Use During Pregnancy and Lactation

Nolvadex is not administered during pregnancy; miscarriages, stillbirths and birth defects have been reported in pregnant women who have taken it. Before starting treatment it is necessary to ensure that the patient is not pregnant, contraceptives (but not oral contraceptives) should be used during treatment and after 3 months. There is no information on the excretion of tamoxifen in breast milk, so breast-feeding should be discontinued during treatment.
