What is Tizanidine

Directions for use and posology

The tablets should be taken orally, independent of meals. The dosage regimen is determined individually, taking into account the indication, efficacy and tolerability of the therapy. In painful spasms: 2 mg or 4 mg three times daily, with an additional 2 mg or 4 mg in the evening if the course is severe. The duration of therapy is determined individually and is on average one to two to three weeks. In chronic pain syndromes, treatment may last from two months to one year.
Tizanidine should be discontinued gradually to avoid the risk of high blood pressure and tachycardia. This is especially true for patients who have taken high doses of the drug for a long time.
