What is Toradol

Toradol is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug used to relieve pain in inflammatory conditions. The main active ingredient is ketorolac, which has analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effects. The drug is available in tablet form in a dosage of 10 mg.

Directions for use and dosage

The dosage of the medicine is individually adjusted by the doctor. The usual dose for adults is 15-30 mg, with an effect lasting 4-6 hours. In case of severe pain, the drug is taken for 15 minutes to two hours at a dose of 15-30 mg. The maximum daily dose is 120 mg.

The drug should not be taken for more than 5 days; if there is no therapeutic effect, a doctor should be consulted about co-administration with narcotic analgesics.


Excessive consumption may be manifested by nausea or vomiting, abdominal pain, metabolic acidosis, renal dysfunction, ulcerative and erosive lesions of the stomach and intestines. Treatment of overdose is symptomatic; in case of overdose, sorbents and gastric lavage should be used.


Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients, peptic ulcer, asthma or impaired renal function. For Children

Toradol tablets are not suitable for patients under 16 years of age. For children, the drug is administered as an injection.

Interaction with Other Substances

Toradol is incompatible with probenecid, pentoxifylline, high-dose anticoagulants, lithium preparations. In patients with normovolaemia, when taken concomitantly with furacemide, its diuretic effect is reduced. There is a risk of renal failure when Toradol is taken concomitantly with ACE inhibitors.

Special instructions

Caution should be exercised in patients with impaired hepatic and renal function, hypertension, chronic heart failure, gastrointestinal ulcers and a history of gastrointestinal bleeding.

In the elderly, use with caution, starting with small doses. If symptoms of liver damage, eosinophilia, rash appear, tablets should be discontinued. Toradol tablets should not be used in chronic pain syndrome.
